QA Automated Engineer Intern

Peak Performers is seeking QA Automated Engineer Intern to perform testing and analysis of State agency’s production systems and applications. You will be responsible for the development, validation, execution and documentation of test plans and test scripts, including unit testing, comparison testing, regression testing, integration testing, and performance testing.

 

This intern position will work closely with Business Analysts, Production Control and Operations, and Development throughout the design and execution of test plans.

 

Major duties

  • Develops detailed test plans for complex computer applications
  • Reviews user requirements and wors to resolve discrepancies and clarify processes
  • Writes and edits detailed test cases based on business user requirements and functional specifications 
  • Employs automated testing tools to perform functionality testing, including, functional, regression, and systems tests to ensure that product is working as expected
  • Assists functional users involved in User Acceptance Testing and helps verify test results
  • Documents expected and actual test results and records bugs using an automated bug-tracking tool

 

What are we looking for?

  • Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related program.
  • Strong understanding of database querying techniques – SQL and Oracle experience preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Gain practical experience in manual and automation testing of computer software and hardware applications
  • Learning performance and security testing skills
  • Learning test documentation skills
  • Learning environment readiness skills, such as, scenario and data creation for testing

 

About this position

  • Rate: $14.00 - $23.00 per hour
  • Length of engagement: 3/1/24 through 8/31/2024 with extension options
  • Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM unless otherwise coordinated, 40 hours per week
  • Location: Austin, TX, (Hybrid) Candidates must be local to Austin, TX
